Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
Today’s post is brought to you by these cold temperatures!! Courtney & Logan’s engagement session was back in the fall, but I knew I wanted to save it to be a fun session to show y’all in the winter. Mainly because it was freezing that day! I’m talking below 30 degrees and it was at sunrise so there was frost all over the ground. We felt like crazy people but, after getting rained out multiple times and all 3 of us having busy work schedules, we knew we had to do it when we could. These two were such troopers!!
The frost on the ground really does look like snow in some of these pictures. I thought it was so cool!! It almost felt like they got to have a fall engagement session and a winter one! Winning! They may not have felt that way when their teeth were chattering but they didn’t complain.
Courtney & Logan have been together since high school!! They started dating before Logan could even get a drivers license!! Courtney was a senior though so Logan must have been doing something right. He claims all he wanted was a ride home, but then he got himself a girlfriend. Yeah yeah, we know the real reason you wanted her to drive you home, Logan!!
They started out just as friends, hanging out with all the same people, but that didn’t stick. They both wanted something more and we are all so glad they did!! They have stayed together through high school, college, and finding careers! Now, they are finally getting married and building a home on a piece of land in the country. Such a dream!
Logan is actually the first cousin to one of our 2017 grooms – Cody – who married Courtney’s very best friend – Melissa. And their homes are going to be a hop, skip, and a jump from each other. Do we think they planned this? I would support it if they had but honestly, it’s just fate!!
Speaking of where they will live, that’s exactly where we did this session! When deciding on a location for engagement pictures, I ask my couples to think of somewhere special to them. Sometimes they have a place they want to use, sometimes they don’t, which is totally fine! But having these picture done at a place that means so much to you can be really sweet! Courtney & Logan did their session on the very land that they are going to build their home.
One day, they can show their kids these photos and tell them that they took them right where that home they are sitting in now stands. That, my friends, is why I love me job!
I hope you enjoy this engagement session! I love these two and had such a fun sunrise with them! I can’t wait for spring wedding, where we are all praying for warmer temperatures!
How cool is that frost!?
Thanks for stopping by!
