Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to tell the story of us. How Anthony & I came to be a couple. If you are going off of the amount of time that we actually dated, this would be a very short story. But, if we are going from when we met, this story is 30 years old. I promise I won’t make it too long though. Some of these photos are pretty hysterical though so have fun with that.
We are just going to continue with the beach theme blog posts and I am sharing my own family photos today! It is no secret that we love the beach. We would literally live there full time if that made sense for our family right now. It may happen one day…I fully plan on that, […]
Yesterday was a perfect day for a baby shower!! Brittany is my sister-in-law and she is due to have her baby boy in exactly one month!! You will hear and see so much more about this in the multiple maternity session posts that will be coming to the blog because I want to share ALL […]
Happy Friday!!!! Today’s post is completely different than my normal wedding or portrait session posts. Actually, it has nothing to do with photography AT ALL!. When I started the blog, I knew I wouldn’t only share my photography work. I wasn’t sure what else I would share about, though! I know, personally, that I love blogs with variety. I love when people share about a lot of different tops. I like to know what skincare people are loving, what recipes are their tried & true, what is making their busy schedules easier, what books are they reading, etc. We all love to read reviews before we buy things to know what others think about them. Am I right?
The title of this post kinda says it all. Yes, I waited until January to post about my family’s vacation because I totally forgot to blog it. Whoops! I definitely gave myself a pat of the back for even taking my camera out during our vacation, though, because I am notorious for not using my real camera and just using my phone. While the iPhone has an excellent camera, nothing compares to real quality images right from my Nikon.
We moved to Prince George about 3 years ago. This county is very large with lots of farmland, and we love that about it! If you look at it on a map, you might not think this, but it is very “small town”. People are so polite and willing to help whenever they can. We […]
If there is one thing I have learned this past year of business, it is that you should always be learning! Even when you think you know it all (which I definitely do not), there is always something else you can learn. I have made it a point to educate myself, whether that is through […]
Happy Fri-YAY! I am hitting you with some advice today! Here we go!! I love engagement sessions – it’s no secret! I feel like they are SO important to the wedding experience and..basically..they are just fun! Some times couples won’t want to do them because they don’t think they need them or don’t think they will like them, but NEVER have I had a couple leave an engagement session regretting that they did it. NEVER! If anything, the guys end up telling me how it was actually fun or they actually didn’t hate it (those are huge compliments coming from a groom), and the girls are just so happy they have these pictures of them with their fiancé!
Owning your own business is such a wonderful blessing! It gives you so much freedom, joy, and pride! I love being able to be home with kids all day, then go out and work with such great clients in the evenings (or on the weekends because…WEDDINGS). But…let’s be honest…being a stay at home mom can lead to lonely days. Owning your own business and being your only employee can also lead to many lonely days. I spend a lot of time in front of my computer screen. A lot of nights are spent at photo sessions and many Saturdays are spent at weddings instead of out with friends, at family birthday parties, or wherever else. I don’t regret those things one bit, so please do not read that the wrong way, it is just the truth. As with any job, you have to make some sacrifices. I still make lots of time for my kids and family, but you get what I am saying, right?
When I became a photographer, I did it because I wanted to capture the joyful, beautiful moments in people’s lives for them so that they could hold on to those memories forever! Those pictures could be something that they hang on their walls, put in their family albums, or pass down to their kids and grandkids so that everyone can remember. That is what you want from your pictures, too, right? Well, choosing the person to take those photos for you means thinking through a few things and doing a little research. Now, you may have someone very close to you that is a photographer and you love their work so – BAM – it is a no-brainer for you. However, some people don’t have that. OR maybe you like multiple photographers – GASP! Is that even allowed!?! Of course it is!! I have a lot of photographers that I love and I would absolutely use quite a few of them! So how do you decide who you should choose or what even to look for? Here are 4 things I think you should think about when searching for you photographer.
