The title of this post kinda says it all.  Yes, I waited until January to post about my family’s vacation because I totally forgot to blog it.  Whoops!  I definitely gave myself a pat of the back for even taking my camera out during our vacation, though, because I am notorious for not using my real camera and just using my phone.  While the iPhone has an excellent camera, nothing compares to real quality images right from my Nikon.

This was our first ever, week long, only the 4 of us, family vacation.  It was a little strange at first because we usually stay at a beach house with lots of people.  This vacation was kind of quiet, but just want we needed.  Don’t get me wrong – we LOVE being on vacation with ALL the family because we have the best time together!  {This was great too, though.}

We stayed a cottage in Nags Head called Carolina Blue Moon Cottage.  We LOVED it!!  Seriously, I wanted to move in to that house.  It was the perfect salt box house, with the cutest decor and knick knacks everywhere.  Plus, they decorated with lots of mermaids so I was in love.  I didn’t take photos of the home but you can click HERE and go see the house for yourself.

The entire week was amazing.  We had cupcake war battles at the house, cooked lots of shrimp, jumped in the enormous puddles that flooded the streets from the mass amount of rain we got for a couple days, found all kinds of shells, and, of course, ate at Fish Heads at least 4 times.  The house had a hot tub so we knocked the temperature down some and all hung out in there every single day.

My brother’s family came down the last day we were there so we decided to do a photoshoot swap for each other.  I posted about their family session a few months ago and you can check that out HERE.  Meghan took photos of my family and I just love them!  We are truly our happiest when we are breathing in that salt air so we love having these photos.  Now, if I will just get around to finally printing some, that would be great.
