Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
One of my favorite places to do sessions is Old Town Petersburg. A lot of people around here either say it is overused or just try to stay away from it. Calling it “overused” basically sounds like a challenge to me! There are endless places to discover there and so many looks you can achieve. Historic Old Town has beautiful homes and streets, historic buildings, as well as landscape and greenery. There are so many options! We could have walked to every spot we used (which we didn’t because it was hot!) but it looks like we went to lots of different locations. I just love this town, the history behind it, and the beauty it holds! Also, it is our go-to spot for date nights! If you haven’t checked out the restaurants in Old Town, do yourself a favor and go down there this Friday night.
Houston showed up for her session just ready to go! I swear, within seconds, I was like “You got this, girl!” Such a natural!! She was down for anything and just trusted me right away. Talk about a dream client! Houston has one of those personalities that is very transparent. You know who she is, as a person, and she isn’t trying to be anything different…which she shouldn’t because she’s amazing! She is so fun and light hearted, laughing and joking around the entire time with me! This gem has got a heart of gold and I just loved getting to meet her!
We ended the night at a field to do some dance pictures. First though, Houston had a cute idea to hang clothes of hers on a clothesline, starting with her “coming home” outfit that she wore as a newborn. I could have cried! How precious! I promise you, as emotional of a person as I am, if I had to sit there and watch my daughter pull out her newborn clothes, then different clothing of hers from grown up until now…I would just have tears streaming down! I can’t even think about that right now. Houston even hung up her first pointe shoes!! I loved it!
Seeing her in her element was just beautiful!! I love dancers. {If only I hadn’t quit way back when I was 5!} It is just so beautiful to see how they move and handle themselves. Houston just made me heart happy, getting to take photos of her! Houston said she isn’t sure if she will dance in college or not but it is definitely a HUGE part of her life so I know it will always be a part of who she is.
I hope you enjoy looking through these photos because I truly had such a great time taking them!
And when your best friend comes to your session, you take pictures together! Of course!!
XOXO
