Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
Have you ever been to Charlottesville during the fall? If you haven’t, just make the trip. I strongly believe that God made the mountains for the fall season because that is when they are the most beautiful! Driving through the mountainside of Charlottesville when the leaves are changing…there is nothing like it! It will take your breath away. Even my 6 year old and 3 year old commented on how pretty it was and just sat in silence (for like a minute, because let’s be honest).
We had been planning this engagement session for a couple months now and Tiffany & Clay had to fly in from Florida so we were just praying for some great weather! It turned out to be the perfect fall day! My family and I headed up to Charlottesville that morning so we could make a day of it. We got to go apple picking at Carter Mountain, walk around Monticello, then headed over to the winery.
Tiffany contacted me over the summer and we immediately knew we wanted to do an engagement session at First Colony Winery but we had one chance to do it! Tiffany and Clay live in Florida right now so there are limited opportunities for them to come back up to Virginia. The day we did these pictures was the perfect weather and the winery wasn’t too crowded so we felt like we had the place all to ourselves! We walked all over the property, using the giant trees will all the fall colored leaves and the vineyard.
This wasn’t just some random winery that we chose. Clay actually proposed to Tiffany in front of the very vines we took some of their pictures!! Clay had bought a row of vines at this winery and, last winter, they were visiting it to see the plaque that had been put up on their row. Tiffany thought she knew what they were there for but had no clue what Clay had up his sleeve. He completely took her by surprise when he proposed!!
It was perfectly fitting that we would do their engagement session here and I am so glad everything worked out for us to do this! I LOVED getting to meet them because they are such genuinely sweet people! Tiffany and Clay are those type of people that you feel like you are friends with the moment you meet them. They are so easy to talk to and we were cracking up together right away!
It also made me so happy that they got to meet my family. There are plenty of couples that don’t meet all 4 of us, but those babies are our world so I love when our couples can see them. Anthony and the kiddos played in the field in front of the tasting room and even met some new friends! Plus, the kids got to see a little bit of what mama does (when they usually have no clue).
I can’t wait for Clay & Tiffany’s summer wedding at one of my favorite venues – The Mill at Fine Creek! I know it is going to be beautiful!!
XOXO – Caiti
