Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
Virginia is for Lovers, right? That makes it the perfect theme for a wedding! Parker & Madelaine said their vows at the beautiful, historic Seven Springs. They had so many family and friends surrounding them, many who traveled from different states! They wanted to showcase their own home state by adding in little details about Virginia throughout the day.
You may remember Parker and Madelaine’s engagement session this past fall, but if you don’t, you need to go check it out here. During their engagement session, we went to two very beautiful places in the heart of Richmond – Monument Avenue & the Virginia State Capitol (which happens to be where Parker works). Both places are important to Virginia history and play significant roles in both Parker & Madelaine’s lives.
For their wedding, this couple wanted everything to have meaning. They weren’t just picking colors or choosing flowers or deciding on a venue without thinking it through. This was going to be the best day of their lives and they wanted each detail to have significance. I LOVE THAT! Whether it was a family or friends being heavily involved in a certain aspect of the day, or a detail pointing back to Virginia history, everything was chosen perfectly.
The day was amazing!! Everyone knew it would be because these two are such loving, compassionate, family-oriented people! They love to do good for their community and others. One of the things that clearly drew them to each other is their kind hearted nature. During dinner, Parker’s mom, Jackie, told everyone that this day should be about Madelaine & Parker but this couple didn’t want it to be. They wanted it to be about their loved ones! Throughout the entire wedding planning process, they both made decisions based on what would be best for their guests! What their guests would enjoy the most! How many couples do that?! These two are definitely special!
I would love to list every amazing detail to this day but it would be the longest blog post of all time! Throughout the post, I will give you information about a detail or about the people involved in making certain parts of the day happen. Before that, I wanted to give you an idea of some of the Virginia elements that were present throughout the day. Not only are these two from Virginia, but they just love Virginia history. Some Virginia elements were: cufflinks, food during the reception, apples on each table setting, Virginia wine, important songs throughout the wedding were by Virginia artists, the guest book barrel by King Family Vineyard, pies made by the bride & grooms themselves, Virginia postcards for guests to sign, and even vintage Virginia stamps for the invitation suite.
Take a look at this beautiful wedding day and all the amazing aspects that Parker & Madelaine included! One of my personal favorite parts of the day was when they got to cuddle with Magnolia – a little lamb that lives on the farm at Seven Springs.
