We moved to Prince George about 3 years ago. This county is very large with lots of farmland, and we love that about it! If you look at it on a map, you might not think this, but it is very “small town”. People are so polite and willing to help whenever they can. We truly love living here!

Before we even moved here, I remember seeing this gorgeous property surrounded by farms, with huge silos, just right down the road from us. Every time we drove past I would say how pretty it was. One day, Anthony & I even talked about how great it would be if someone made this a wedding venue. Little did we know, that plan was already in the works!! The Perkinson family was turning this beautiful property into an amazing venue!

This property is called The Barns of Kanak. With over 10 barns in various places behind the farm house, the name is very fitting! This venue offers SO much to a bride & groom and is truly a wonderful place for a wedding. I am so excited to see all that it becomes. I am also excited that it is 5 minutes from my home – sign my brides UP!

Let me tell a little about what it offers. The main home, which was built in 1912, can host the bride & bridesmaids. The house has a full kitchen, dining room, 4 sitting rooms, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bath. One of the rooms upstairs has 4 vanities set up in it and lots of natural window light – the PERFECT place for you hair & make up artists to set up! All of the rooms of gorgeous & bright, you and your girls can listen to music and drink mimosas while getting ready for the big day.

The groom’s quarters are in a separate cottage on the property. This house has a room for the guys to hang out, get ready, and play some darts before the festivities begin.

When it comes to the actual celebration, the Barns of Kanak offers multiple places for you to have your ceremony on the grounds. The barns are all beautiful and the grounds are very well landscaped, so any location you choose will be perfect!

The real show stopper, though, is the main custom built barn! There are 3 stunning chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling, which really take this barn to the next level. It is rustic yet very elegant. Also, the barn can accommodate up to 300 guests!! There is a very nice patio area attached to the barn that is perfect for cocktail hour, as well as just as extra space for guests to hang out and enjoy the view!

If you are planning your wedding in Virginia, you definitely want to check this venue out! It is truly beautiful and run by such a sweet, caring family! They will definitely take care of you and make your day amazing! They also have their own wedding coordinator, Leah, and she will be there with you every step of the way, taking care of so many details for you so that you can just enjoy your wedding day without a care in the world!
