Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
My goodness…I am so excited to show this couple off to all of you! I have been anticipating this engagement session for awhile! We started the afternoon on the most beautiful street in Richmond, especially in the fall, Monument Avenue! It looks like it is straight out of a movie! Gorgeous houses, leaves everywhere, and the huge median is lined with orange and yellow trees right now. After that, we made our way over to the Virginia State Capital.
Before we get into the pictures, I thought it would be fitting to let you all get to know this couple a little better. I have known Parker for majority of my life. We grew up in the same hometown where ‘everybody knows everybody’ {We ALSO went to the same college -random fact for you}. When he started dating Madelaine, everyone knew and everyone wanted to know the story! I met her a couple times before they got engaged and her sweet & funny personality shined through right away. She is definitely a people person and has a very driven spirit, plus she has amazing style! All things I just love about her! Parker obviously does, too!
I could tell you all their story and how excited they are to get married but I feel like it would be better coming from them so I gave them a little interview – which happens to be the EXACT way that Parker met Madelaine when he was a reporter for WRIC TV-8 News!
How did the two of you meet?
Back in December of 2013, I (Parker) was an investigative reporter for a local TV station in Richmond and needed a story for the 11 o’clock news that evening. One of my co-workers suggested I do a story on local New Year’s Eve plans around the city and connected me with the owner of F.W. Sullivan’s, a popular restaurant and bar in the Fan. After meeting the owner at Sullivan’s to conduct an interview, I turned my attention to a table of girls laughing in the back of the restaurant for some additional footage of local residents’ plans. Madelaine happily allowed me to interview her. Back at the news station, I mentioned to co-workers that I had just met the “most beautiful girl” for the story. The next day, I decided to ask her out! What’s crazy is this was not the first time our paths had crossed. 18 months earlier, our families were each enjoying a vacation at their favorite destination – the Outer Banks in North Carolina. On that day Madelaine was with her family on the Nags Head Fishing Pier, and coincidentally so was I. We never spoke to each other that day, but Madelaine’s mother snapped a photo of Madelaine, and in the background sitting on the end of the pier was…Parker!!! (Parker)
How long have you two been together?
We have been together since our first date at Secco Wine Bar in January 2014, so almost 4 years.
How did that first date go?
We accidentally closed the place down!! After looking at my phone in shock when they started stacking chairs, we realized that our casual first date had turned into a 4-hour discussion; I felt like I’d known him for forever already. (Madelaine)
Parker, what was your first impression of Madelaine?
I actually shared with a co-worker (WRIC TV-8 Anchor Juan Conde) what my first impression was the night I first interviewed Madelaine. Just before the newscast in which the story was about to air of me interviewing Madelaine, I turned to Juan in the studio and said “Juan, you have to watch for this girl in my story, she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.”
Madelaine, what was your first impression of Parker?
I have to admit I thought he was much older than he really was! All decked out in his suit and tie in preparation for being on air just a bit later, he looked very professional. Very charming too…I was pretty excited when he reached out to ask me out for drinks after the story aired.
{this is one of my favorites}
Parker, when did you know you wanted to marry Madelaine?
It didn’t take me long to realize Madelaine was the one. We met in December/January and I quickly found out the preppy dressed girl I met at Sullivan’s was also not afraid to get her hands dirty. Two months after we met I had her turkey hunting, 3 months later she was deep sea fishing with me, and sprinkled along the way for the next year were concerts, trips across the country, and adventures that I will remember for a life time. When finding a partner I think everyone wants someone who is not only their best friend but is also their companion, someone who loves doing the things you love doing simply because you are doing them together. That was Madelaine for me.
Madelaine, what do you love most about Parker?
Parker is the most caring person I’ve ever met in my entire life. He goes above and beyond to help others every day and he challenges me to be a better person. I can’t imagine what my life would look like without him! He truly brings joy and comfort to everyone around him.
I’m so excited Parker & Madelaine chose to use us to capture their big day and I seriously can not wait for these two to get married!! It is going to be a gorgeous Southern wedding at the historic venue, Seven Springs. For now, I hope you enjoy looking through these pictures from their engagement session because we had a great time taking them!
{My other favorite! Who am I kidding? I have lots of favorites!}
Love!!
I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! Adding to the favorites list!
