Virginia weather has really gone all out this winter.  She is not holding back very much!  We have had some of the coldest days I can remember, which sounds silly to some people, but not for those of us who have lived here our entire lives.  We aren’t use to the air feeling like it is cutting through your skin without the wind even blowing!  Plus, it has already snowed multiple time before the middle of January?!  I do love the snow though, so I’ll take it.

The day I took the Cote’s family pictures was NO different.  It was ice cold!  But you can’t even tell because they were so much fun to be with!  We may have joked about how numb our faces and limbs were the entire time, but at least we got great laughing shots out of it!  The girls were such troopers and toughed it out for us, giving us the cutest pictures!

Brittney and Justin aren’t new to being behind my camera.  I got to photograph their wedding day!  Then, I got to take their maternity photos when Brittney was pregnant with Harper.  Fun fact – Brittney and I found out we were pregnant basically at the same time (4 years ago, not recently)!  She texted me and said “Guess what?!”  Jokingly, I texted her back and said “I’m pregnant!”…talking about MYSELF because we had just left our first ultrasound and figured that was a great way to tell her (haha!).  She texted me back and said, “How do you know?”  Then we were BOTH confused!  I said, “Well..because I just left my ultrasound”, but then she texted me back saying, “No..IM PREGNANT TOO!”  This all may sound weird and crazy to you but we both freaked out.  {Especially because another one of our girlfriends had found out that she was pregnant about a week before this…something in the water.}

You see, Brittney and I became best friends before we even went to grade school.  We were inseperable for almost all of our childhood.  I’m talking—we made our moms take us school shopping together (Limited Too, anyone?) so that we could buy all the same clothes and then match at school.  Hysterical.  She has always been one of my best friends and someone I can talk to about anything.  Finding out we were pregnant together was so much fun!  Then….to make it better….we delivered on the SAME DAY (completely unplanned).  You can’t make this stuff up!  I text her to tell I’m heading to the hospital and she one-ups me with “I’m already here and probably delivering soon”.  Rude.

Anyway, all that to say that I love this family!  Justin, Brittney, Sophia, and Harper are a blast to be around and are such sweethearts.  Justin always has us laughing and I am so glad my girl found her a great man!  I am going to go ahead and let you look at their winter family session on the farm!
