I told you that newborns were taking over the blog the next few weeks and I was not lying!  Y’all…I am loving all these baby snuggles!  This newborn was extra special, too, because I have been photographing the Taylor family for years!  You may remember their family session last year involving the chickens?  This was their first time doing newborn photos in their home, though, and we had a great time!

I have mentioned before how I used to do newborns in my home.  Well, technically I started out doing them at my parents’ house and then…they kicked me out and made me have the studio at my own home.  We all have to grow up sometime, right?  So, then our office became a studio.  I would do some newborns as a lifestyle session, depending on what the family wanted.  I came to realize that I LOVED the lifestyle sessions more AND the families/babies did so much better with those.

This type of session was perfect for the Taylor family because the kids were able to hang out at their own house while I did photos of Emma, Chris got to drink his cup of coffee watching his baby girl have her photos taken, and Michelle got to feel comfortable and at ease because, when you have just given birth, that is all you want!  Plus, your photos will always compliment your home decor if they are taken in your home…obviously.

Okay, enough about why I am a firm believer in these lifestyle sessions – maybe I will write an entire blog post about this?  Who knows!  So sweet Emma – y’all, she was a mystery for her family!  Chris and Michelle opted not to find out what they were having, especially since they had a son & daughter already so they really wanted that surprise.  They were all smitten with her right away!  Her brother & sister are so gentle and loving with her.  It is adorable to watch!

Emma was just a gem for her session, too!  She was either looking around at us or sleeping like a doll baby {she literally looks like a doll!}.  My favorite photos are the ones of the entire family cuddled up in the master bed.  If you have kids, you know that this is not an unusual thing!  Of course, you aren’t all typically dressed super cute, in coordinating outfits BUT everyone DOES like to cuddle together.  My kids pile up in our bed every.single.morning.  So these photos just make sense to me!  They always end up being a favorite for me.
