Hi there! I'm Caiti and I am a portrait photographer living in Disputanta, Virginia. I am a music loving, doughtnut eating, coffee drinking, mama of 2. This is the place where you can come to see my latest work with my beautiful clients and learn more about me, my husband, and our sweet babies. Take a look around and enjoy!
When I started photography, it was solely because I wanted to take pictures of my daughter. I wanted to document things about her life. Then, I wanted to be able to offer my friends and family decent pictures of their own families! I say decent because my photography skills when I started out were “struggling” big time. I still love to document memories for my family & friends…that will never change! So a couple weeks ago, I did family pictures for my sister and her gang.
With non-stop weddings happening, I thought it would be nice to share a family session! This beautiful session happened about a month ago. It was right when wedding season kicked off for us but I knew it needed to be shared with all of you. This family is super special to us because they are our family (and because they are pretty awesome)! Brittany is my husband’s little sister and we are very, very close with she, Taylor, and beautiful little Camryn (or Buns, as everyone really knows her). Brittany and Taylor moved down to Louisiana just months after getting married, a couple years ago. EVERYONE misses them like crazy so we are all counting down the days for them to move back.
This Saturday was our last wedding of the spring and it was the perfect way to end our 5 week long stretch. I feel like it was so long ago that Lauren & I first sat down at Starbucks talking about all of her wedding plans! Really, it was about 10 months ago, but I have seen her since then for engagements bridals, each time getting more and more excited for the big day! We have just all been counting down. When Lauren’s mom walked in to the church that morning, the first thing she said to me was, “I can’t believe it! It’s finally here!” I just hugged her because I know their family, I know how close they are, and I know what that day meant to all of them.
Sean & Stacey got married this past weekend and it was only 20 plus years in the making!! I have been messaging, emailing, and texting with Stacey for months about all of the details of the big day and how excited we both were! This day was prayed over and waited for….and there was so much joy when it came. Sean & Stacey both have such a great support system with their family and friends. People who love them, stand by them, and are cheering for them every step of the way. It was so beautiful to see all of these people come together to celebrate the two of them!
You may remember seeing Travis and Anna’s Yorktown engagement session on the blog last month and now, here they are, MARRIED! Saturday was the perfect day! The weather stayed beautiful all day, despite all the talk of rain and wind. We did get lots of wind off of the water but, when you see their portraits, you will know why we were very thankful for it (hint: her flowy dress)!
Anna met with me back in December to first discuss her wedding day. She was still brainstorming a lot of ideas so I remember us talking about many different things that could look great or might work with her vision. Seeing it all come together was like a dream! All that she had talked about and hoped for just came to life in the best way possible!!
I was so excited to meet Ashley & Jake! Meeting new clients, especially right after they become new parents, is so fun because they have just entered in to a WHOLE new world!! I am so lucky to also be a mommy so I feel very fortunate to be able to relate to them on so many levels. Whether that is the lack of sleep or the nursing struggles….it could be the fact that putting on makeup feels like a miracle…or even that walking around is insanely painful! But also, the feeling you get seeing the life you helped create. Looking at this beautiful little human sleeping, while sitting in the nursery you worked so hard to put together. At every session, I can see in the parents eyes how overwhelmed they are with LOVE for their child and I feel so fortunate to capture it.
I am so excited to share this wedding with all of you! I feel like I have been counting down to this day for SO long!! I met Danielle last June for our initial meeting to talk about her dreams for her wedding day. Dani & Angie (Sean’s sister) were speaking straight to my heart. Everything they said, I loved! Danielle knew from day one that she wanted everything outside, lots of florals, and just wanted the day to be fun & carefree. She accomplished all of that! She and Sean had the perfect day! The weather was gorgeous, the people were so fun, and everything they had done (and yes, I mean THEY because this was truly a DIY wedding) was perfect! But, what I love most about their wedding was the love that went in to it.
These past couple of weeks have been so busy around here! Between newborns sessions, family sessions, engagements sessions, and weddings….I did not keep up with blogging all of them! I do not guarantee to blog every single session because sometimes there just is not enough time. However, I definitely want to do my best!
Saturday kicked off spring wedding season and we had the perfect wedding to do just that! Justin & Maggie are seriously (no joke) two of the most genuine, kind, and authentic people I have ever met. They are who they are and everyone around them loves them for it. They were meant for each other and you know it within minutes of meeting them! I met them last summer for the first time and was immediately excited to get to know them more. We all live in the same county, which is actually quite large but feels VERY small town! If you live in Prince George, you know what I mean. It may be a large place but everyone knows everyone, and if they don’t, they are still connected in some way. Maggie & Justin have SO many friends and family that love them and support them, and…good grief..it truly showed on Saturday! Talk about the water works (I am included in that!).
Camden was greeted by a lot of people who just could not wait to meet him! Brittany and Josh have so many amazing family members and friends who are ready to love and spoil this beautiful baby boy. I truly love seeing people welcome new baby’s into their lives, especially when it is their first child. I wanted to cry just seeing Brittany hold little Camden!! We talked so much about how excited and emotional she was about meeting him! I couldn’t wait to get over to their house to meet him for myself!
