We’re back!!!  Wedding season has officially begun and we could not have had a better couple to kick it off with!  At the beginning of the day, I was told there would be a lot of happy tears and every one was right!  From the first look to the sparkler exit, tears of joy were flowing!  Everyone was so excited that Anna & Joey’s wedding day had finally arrived.

I met Joey & Anna at a wedding we photographed last February for Shannon & Will.  Anna was so sweet and immediately helping me with anything I needed.  When she contacted me about her own wedding, I was ecstatic!!  You may remember their Belle Isle engagement session from last spring.  Since then, we have all just been counting down the days until their wedding.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spring day either!  Joey & Anna’s wedding was at the beautiful Alturia Farm.  This venue is gorgeous and run by the most wonderful people!!  We arrived at the property with the sun shining, a cool breeze blowing, and horses walking through the fields.  Once Anna was dressed in her flowy gown, we made our way to the barn for she & Joey’s first look.

The moment before Anna rounded the corner, Joey said to himself “Don’t cry” but that was pointless…one look at Anna and he lost it!  THIS is why I love first looks!!  Joey immediately gasped and threw his hands up!  He told Anna how stunning she was and how much he loved her dressed!  They just hugged and kissed and laughed.  I support couples not doing first looks, but I DO love them for this very reason – grooms get to react to their bride however they want without any fear of being in front of hundreds of people.  {That still didn’t stop them both from tearing up during their vows.}

The day just kept getting better and better!  From a fun wedding party to emotional ceremony and then the real party began!  Anna and Joey’s guests had a blast all evening, dancing the night away in the beautiful barn!!  Alturia Farm also has a great patio area with strung lights and an outdoor bar, perfect for getting some fresh air and hanging out by the fire pit.

It was such a fun day and we loved getting to capture all of those beautiful moments for these two!  We wish them nothing but the best!
