Today’s blog post is definitely a first for me!!  An engagement session inside of a restaurant? Absolutely!  Dixie Restaurant to be exact!  This was such a fun idea and I am just glad that Molly & David chose me to capture this exciting time in their lives.  

David and Molly have been together for over 5 years and everyone agrees they are 100% meant for each other!!  I told them that it seems like they are already married simply because they are so perfect for each other — which means that everyone has known for awhile that they would get married.  There were no doubts in anyone’s mind.   

David proposed to Molly at the very beginning of September.  He told me that they often collect pieces of driftwood in the river when they are spending time at the river house.  Labor Day weekend, they were at the river with some family & friends.  David pretended to find some wood in the water and called for Molly to see it.  He had painted on it “Will You Marry Me?”!!  He got down on one knee right there in front of their loved ones!!  To say everyone is over the moon for them is an understatement.

For this session, we all knew that we needed to shoot part of it at Dixie Restaurant.  Molly’s parents own this restaurant and David works there so obviously it is very special to them.  This restaurant is a staple in Petersburg, and to all of us who live near it!  We love this place!  If you are local and you have not eaten there – what is wrong with you?  Do you live under a rock?  Go ahead and get breakfast there today.  It has such a fun feel to it!!  We felt like we were channeling Luke & Lorelai during this!  

The second half of the session was at Mayfield Cottage.  This is Dinwiddie County’s oldest brick home and was built in 1750!!  The owners are friends of David & Molly’s and we were so happy they allowed us on their property.  The home, the grounds – everything is gorgeous!  

Plus, Molly and David were so fun and easy to work with which made their session a breeze!  We had a great time and I love allllllll of their pictures!  I can’t wait for you to scroll and see how cute these two are together!
