I can’t believe I am already blogging this!!  Clara is ONE!  If you have been following my work for any length of time, chances are you have seen this family.  As one of my first EVER clients, I have been taking pictures of them for 6 years.  Clara is the baby of the bunch and she turned a year old this month.

I still remember the day Kelly told me she was pregnant.  She was still in shock but so excited!  We were sitting together at the gymnastics gym, watching our girls out on the floor or the beam or whatever, and she just spilled it.  My jaw dropped and I was SO excited!  Kelly and Derek are amazing parents and make SUCH cute babies.  Just look at these faces below! I can’t handle it.

Clara has been such a gem to photograph this past year.  She is a trooper, too, because we have done all kinds of things with her.  Her newborn session was done in the middle of her family moving homes but we made it work!  We had her outside in the fall, sitting in a bucket of apples!  Then, her past couple sessions have been in her own home and have been some of my favorite sessions ever!  Kids are so happy at sessions when they are comfortable and familiar with where they are.  Clara was an angel for every session though!  She loves smiling and being silly for the camera.

Kelly knew from the time Clara was born, she wanted to a do a watermelon session.  July birthdays are HOT so that just sounded like a genius idea.  Then, with Clara having an food allergy, it was even more fitting.  And guess what? SHE LOVED IT!  That girl was all in from the moment we set the watermelon in front of her.  She could not be bothered by any of us.  When we took the watermelon away and her siblings helped to give her a bath…that was a different story.  There are plenty of photos of that NOT shown in this blog post that her parents can use to embarrass her later in life.  Those are things, as parents, we live for! 🙂

Clara ended up coming around to the bath idea though, and had herself a great time!  What a fun way to spend Independence Day morning!  I love this family and had such a fun time at this session.  Keep scrolling to see this beautiful girl.
