Let me introduce you to Kemper and Mandy!  Two best friends who inevitably fell in love…over calculus homework.  These two met at Richard Bland College where they both played golf.  They started out being just friends, never thinking it could turn into anything more.  So many great love stories start out that way, right?  I know mine did!

Eventually they started getting kind of flirty.  They each felt something for the other but never said it.  Months went by and their friends kept telling them to go ahead and date already…but they refused!!  Eventually, they could not deny it anymore and, after a year of friendship (and plenty of study dates), they finally started dating!  And here we are!!

Mandy and Kemper are so cute together!!  The way he looks at her and the way she smiles at him – you can tell they are in love!!  They are also serious troopers because we did this session on the hottest day of the year yet.   With temperatures at 100 (felt like 110), you may have thought we were crazy.  WE have thought we were crazy.  Especially when, 15 minutes in to the session, the sky let go and we were standing in front of a cornfield in heavy rain!!

Luckily, the storm passed quick and we got to go back out.  Thank goodness!! I’m so glad they stayed with me and we did the rest of the session because it was gorgeous!!

Kemper & Mandy chose a stunning venue in Charles City – Burlington Plantation.   I can’t say enough amazing things about this place.  The original house has been there since 1818.  This home has such history and it is so beautiful!  To read more about it click here.  The barns and all the cottages on the property are so pretty.  Plus, it is surrounded in farm land – my favorite!!  The more we walked around, the more excited we got for Mandy and Kemper’s spring wedding there!  

I love these two and loved their session!  The property goes from looking like a plantation, to somewhere in Europe, to farmland, to a vineyard – it is beautifully diverse and I could have stayed there for hours.
