Michael & Lauren | Married | Chester, Virginia Wedding Photographer

This Saturday was our last wedding of the spring and it was the perfect way to end our 5 week long stretch.  I feel like it was so long ago that Lauren & I first sat down at Starbucks talking about all of her wedding plans!  Really, it was about 10 months ago, but I have seen her since then for engagements bridals, each time getting more and more excited for the big day!  We have just all been counting down.  When Lauren’s mom walked in to the church that morning, the first thing she said to me was, “I can’t believe it!  It’s finally here!”  I just hugged her because I know their family, I know how close they are, and I know what that day meant to all of them.

Over the past year, Lauren was not only planning her wedding but was also finishing up her masters degree!  Busy, busy woman!! Finally being done with school and done with living hours  from home, she was getting to marry the man of her dreams and finally be back home, starting she & Michael’s new life together!!  To say they were overjoyed is an understatement!!

The wedding day could not have been more perfect!  Lauren & Michael’s day went so smoothly and was filled, from morning to night, with lots of people that were ecstatic for the two of them.  Everyone was smiling all day long!  I think my favorite thing about their entire wedding day, though, was how they incorporated their families.  I have known from the beginning how important family is to the two of the them, but I have never seen siblings and parents so involved, and it was beautiful! Lauren & Michael both had brothers & cousins in the wedding party, one of Launre’s brothers played the piano for the start of the ceremony, Michael’s sister sang during the ceremony, and Lauren’s daddy performed certain parts of the ceremony (including pronouncing them husband and wife).

The best part was when both sets of parents came up on the stage to pray over their children.  Cue the TEARS!  You guys.  It was perfect.  I love when couples do this and I can only pray that my children do it.  Involving your parents – the people who raised who, cared for you, loved up, supported you – in the most important day of your life, seems perfect to me.  I turned to Anthony during this moment, with tears just streaming down my face, and he just laughed because he knows I am so emotional during weddings.  (I should really be use to all this by now, I guess).

Lauren & Michael – thank you so much for simply being awesome people!  We loved hanging out with y’all and being a part of your wedding day!  We are SO excited for what the future holds for y’all!  We love you guys!
