Jonnie & Taylor | A DIY Farmhouse Wedding

Wedding’s are extremely detailed these days.  If you have planned or been in a wedding (especially in the past couple years), you know what I am talking about, right?  I am just blown away by it all!  Bride’s have to remember so much!  You can NOT do it alone.  It takes a village, that’s for sure.   Taylor had her family & friends there every step of the way!  And they did it ALL themselves!  I am not even exaggerating.  Taylor was icing her own cake just 2 nights before she said “I do”!!  This wedding is the definition of DIY.

From flowers to decorations to the cake to appetizers, everything was done by the bride and her friends or family.   And it was BEAUTIFUL!  Taylor paid such attention to the little details and nothing went unnoticed.  She had a lot of help from so many people, people who genuinely wanted to be there to support she and Jonnie! Being a wedding photographer allows you to see what truly matters to people.   What I learned about Taylor & Jonnie is that they are so family oriented!!  They love fiercely and thrive off of those relationship they have with the people that mean the most to them.  You can see their faces light up being around their friends & family.  Not only that, but the girls started the day at the salon where Taylor is a stylist.  She had her hair & makeup done by the girls that she works with every day and treat like family!

To continue with the trend, the ceremony was held at their family’s farmhouse.  That farmhouse has been around (and in their family) since the 1800’s!  How meaningful do you think that was for her grandmother to see Taylor promise her life & love to the man she adores right there on that porch?  Cue the tears!   Taylor & Jonnie chose to have a small ceremony at the farmhouse with only their close family & friends.  They wanted it to be intimate and family focused…and it truly was.  I loved it! After the ceremony, we headed out to the reception where more of Jonnie & Taylor’s friends were invited to celebrate and party the night away!

There are so many great things to say about this day, about Jonnie & Taylor, about how sweet they were and overjoyed to finally be married, about how much fun every one had at the reception dancing the night away, about Taylor’s killer cowgirl boots…but I can’t write 10 more paragraphs so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
