Mini sessions this year were definitely some of the best ones ever!  Each year gets better and better!  I truly love these sessions.  My favorite part of doing mini sessions is that every single one is different.  Each family is full of different personalities which makes their session individual to them.  I may be doing most of these photos are the same locations, but no one session looks the same.  That is what makes them so special!

I split my mini sessions up among a few different dates this year, so I usually had 4-5 sessions each of those days, instead of doing 2 days of session from sun up to sun down.  I also offered a couple of weeknights earlier in the season which worked out great for certain families.  I wanted a little more variety, that way I could reach more people instead of just hoping people were available the one weekend I wanted to do photos.

I am so very thankful for each of the families that came out for my mini sessions this year!  I had a great time with ALL of you!  I had all types of sessions, from maternity to family to engagements to a 30 year anniversary session.  A mini session can be whatever type of session you want, it isn’t JUST for children, so I was excited people really took advantage of that and asked for whatever photos they wanted or needed.

Tip for photographers – if you are doing mini sessions, it can sometimes be intimidating since you are doing them at all different times of day.  A BIG piece of advice is to find a spot with great light and KEEP your clients there!  Just do a lot of different poses in that one spot so you have a large variety in your photos while still having great light.  The session will look more cohesive and you will have more time to get the photos you need, instead of moving locations and finding another spot with that same great light.
